Redwoods Road Trip

Redwoods7Early Saturday morning we joined 24 other adventurous drivers and passengers in Novato and headed up the coast on our first road trip with Lucy Cate – a three-day event through the land of giants. The key stop for the first day was the Point Arena Lighthouse MIMG_8542useum with lunch in Mendocino. Day two was all about seeing the giant redwoods along the Avenue of the Giants, Lady Bird Johnson Grove, and Big Tree Wayside. Day three the group made more stops to see the Redwoods before a wild ride over highway 36 to Red Bluff. Here, we made our separate ways to head home. The event was organized by Adam Cook, an avid car enthusiast that we met at the EuroSunday event held at Track Logic. http://www.norcaldrivers.com At this site you can see more photos from this roadtrip as well as photos from past events.  We thoroughly enjoyed the trip and have signed up for the Mammoth trip in September.

Mammoth and Yosemite Road Trip

On September 20th, 2014 we joined the Road Adventures Drive group just down the way at Highway 49 and Shenandoah Road, and headed up towards Mono Lake and making our way to Mammoth Lakes for the night.  What made this trip especially enjoyable was the fact that neither Jeff nor I had ever been to this part of the state.

J&J MonoLakeThe following day we were up bright and early, heading to magnificent Yosemite.  Having figured out how to use my GoPro, I managed to get somYosemite2e breathtaking video along the way and put together this short video recap  on Vimeo.  I can’t begin to describe the feeling of being unfettered by a roof with such magnificent scenery.
